Molly, Hartlepool Young Producer

Molly, Hartlepool Young Producer

I’m a 20 year old first year costume student studying in Hartlepool. I love motorsport, especially Formula One and MotoGP! When I’m not busy with university, work or volunteering you can find me listening to lots and lots of music. I try and see many artists live; my favourite is definitely Beyonce!!

What have you taken part in so far in Young Producers?

I’ve helped put on a silent disco which was a roaring success. We went on a group trip to York to help understand and plan a touring British Museum exhibition which will be put on in May. We have started to look into the Hartlepool collection to chose artwork to be shown alongside the pieces from the British Museum and writing interpretation for them.

What have you enjoyed the most?

Meeting wonderful young people also interested in museums and heritage. Being able to collaborate and bring different ideas to the sector that help engage young people.

What are your ambitions for the future?

My career goal is to work in a museum. Preferably working with textiles and clothing but working in a museum and doing volunteering like this has made me realise how interested I am in the learning and engagement side of things.
