My act of kindness is protecting nature by litter picking. It is a little act that can be done by anyone but can have a big impact. Litter picking may sound boring but it is so important and it could help save Earth. It is estimated that over 100,000 marine animals and 1 million sea birds are killed by litter pollution every year. Imagine how much larger that number will be if you include land animals.

I have been mesmerised by nature since the age of 4 and just seeing a crow fascinated me, because the act of flying is so engaging. Think of what you love; imagine if that was gone, wouldn’t you miss it? Well Earth could be gone and everything would be taken away from us; if we don’t look after our planet by getting rid of the litter in our oceans and on our land.

To help, you can start by simply picking up litter you find scattered across your hometown. Whilst the message has always been “Don’t drop litter”, it saddens me when I see birds picking up litter for their nests or mistaken food. It is almost like litter is poisoning our wildlife and it needs to stop now! PICK UP LITTER. HELP NATURE. MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE!
