‘Try to be a rainbow in some else’s cloud’. Maya Angelou said these affectionate words and these words appear in my mind every time I see, hear or do kindness. Kindness means: helping someone if they are stuck; complimenting someone; asking if they need anything; asking if they are ok. Kindness makes me feel happy because I know that I have made someone feel good. Just the smallest compliment can make someone’s day. For example, ‘I like your shoes, your hair looks nice today, and your top is nice. It does not take a lot of energy to be kind.
My picture shows an act of kindness when I raised over £800 for dementia. I walked 5km for the Memory Walk to help people find a cure. I loved giving up my time to help other people and I feel that raising money for charity is a good example of kindness.
