Five Star Families

Could you be a five star family?

We are looking for families* to join us to help shape what our museums do.

The Tees Valley Five Star Families group will meet once every 2 months at alternating venues across Tees Valley Museums.

Their role will be to visit museums, appraising their services, exhibitions, events, providing feedback (which can be used in publicity for the museum service) and providing guidance about how museums can be improved for the families who visit. Phenomenal Family visits will mostly be about fun at our museums, with only an hour to commit to sharing findings with our staff in interesting and engaging ways.

Members of the Five Star Families group will:

  • Have travel to and from museum venues booked and paid for on meeting days, for all of the family. For example, if you live in Darlington and the meeting takes place in the Dorman Museum in Middlesbrough, we would arrange transport to and from the meeting for you;
  • Be provided with annual passes to museums (where entry is paid);
  • Have exclusive invitations to openings and ticketed events;
  • Be provided with food at each meeting, along with tea, coffee and juice;
  • Younger family members will be entertained during meeting times with a fun craft activity.

To join us you must be:

  • A resident of Tees Valley (any of the five local authorities covered by Tees Valley Museums);
  • Be able to commit to joining us for a morning every two months for a minimum of a year;
  • Be happy to share your thoughts and feedback with the group.
