Literacy Loans

Welcome to the draft web pages for Tees Valley teachers piloting the Literacy Loans scheme. The scheme is simple:

• Plan your sessions with your Education Officer and Writer
• Organise an online session with your Education Officer, so they can introduce students to your object and answer any questions
• Run some historical enquiry activities in your classroom, to really get to know your object
• Work with your writer online in 3 x 40 min sessions
• Follow up with more creative writing activities

To plan your Literacy Loan project follow the four simple steps below.

4 Simple Steps...

Choose your object

First choose your object. For this pilot scheme you will already have chosen an object, but you can find out more about it here.

Get to know your object

Next choose some activities to help students explore your object.

Writers and storymakers

For this pilot scheme, you have been allocated a writer. You can find information about them here. Contact them through your museum partner.
