Giant Head, Ben: Oil Painting

This oil painting by Naheem Shoa is over 20 times larger than an actual head and took over a year to complete. It is part of the collection at Hartlepool Art Gallery.

Have you ever seen the classic movie “Honey I shrunk the kids”? In the film, after the children are shrunk, normal objects appear huge. Obviously the children didn’t really shrink, this was done with film trickery.

Photography

Can you take a photograph of an object and make it look a lot bigger than it is?

This is a type of forced perspective photography. To do this you need to put an obect in the foreground and another object in the background. Have a play.  What photo trickery can you create?
