Projects in your School

Schools are invited to participate in a variety of projects with Tees Valley Museums. If you would like to find out more about any of these projects please contact Creative Learning Support Officer Jenny.Wilkie@Stockton.gov.uk

Museum in your Classroom

The museum in your classroom toolkit supports teachers to create a museum at school. Creating a museum at school supports children to take a lead in their own learning, and develop a sense of pride in their local area.
This resource has been developed in collaboration with Tees Valley teachers and can be used to support a whole half term of topic planning.

Literacy Loans

An opportunity to work with a real object from the museums collections alongside a published writer to develop literacy and especially creative writing in your classroom.

Museum of old Things

COMING SOON
The Museum of Old Things is an easy to use EYFS toolkit that will give you everything you need to create a role play museum in your nursery or classroom. This toolkit supports understanding about the past and the present. Teachers will be able to adapt this resource to fit most EYFS themes and will offer opportunities to achieve all the prime area ELG's

Arts Award

Arts Award supports young people to deepen their engagement with the arts.
Our Museums have a wide range of programmes that work at Discover and Explore level. Many of these can be integrated into class topics and make full use of the museum visit as a central part of the Award, reducing any impact on teacher workload. We can provide Tees Valley Arts Award materials and help out with marking and moderation.
