Nestled alongside the River Tees, Preston Hall, a former Georgian gentleman’s residence and once home to local industrial magnate Robert Ropner, houses a vast collection of artefacts which tell the story of Stockton-On-Tees.

Step through the Victorian portico and discover more about the families who lived here and their role in shaping Stockton’s history. Admire the museum’s beautiful collections and explore the history of the mighty River Tees. Step over our backwards ticking clock and emerge into the world of 1895 to engage with our costumed volunteers in our Victorian Street – why not take afternoon tea or sample some sweets from times gone by?

Whether you’d like a stroll in the Quarry Wood Nature Reserve, fancy a wander around our Victorian walled kitchen garden, or feel like letting off steam at our adventure play area – there’s something for everyone!
