All aboard for an exciting voyage of Discovery. A guided tour of the museum and interactive workshop will fully immerse children in the theme of Captain Cook as a significant person in their own locality. Learn about his life story from his humble beginnings in Marton, Middlesbrough through to his accomplishments on his voyages around the world.

Key learning outcome:

Students will become familiar with the life of Captain Cook as a significant individual in the locality, who contributed to national and international achievements.

These sessions can also be adapted to KS2 groups.

Plan your visit

Staff-led sessions at the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Workshops vary in length from 2 hour sessions to full day visits (10am-2:30pm) and a lunch space will be provided for these guided sessions. Most sessions can accommodate a maximum of 60 students and advance booking is essential.
