Description:

Students study the huge painting by John Dobbin that shows the opening of the railway and explore what was happening. Using drama and role play, students imagine how people would have felt and the conversations they would have. This is an excellent way to bring together things students have learned as they explore the Museum.

Planning a visit:

All our workshops are currently free for schools if pre-booked.

Full day sessions from 10am to 3pm are also available.

Most sessions can accommodate a maximum of 60 children.

A room for lunch is provided when booking sessions led by the museum staff.
