Description:

Taking inspiration from 19th century literature and our own atmospheric station, students will begin to create a story set in Victorian Darlington. They will meet actors playing key Industrial Revolution characters, Mr Stephenson and Mr Pease, and talk to them about how they research and develop roles.

Key learning outcome:

Students enhance the impact of their writing through professional input and deepen their understanding of Britain as the first industrial nation.

    All our workshops are currently free for schools if pre-booked.

    Full day sessions from 10am to 3pm are also available.

    Most sessions can accommodate a maximum of 60 children.

    A room for lunch is provided when booking sessions led by the museum staff.
