Description:

These sessions combine railway object handling focusing on how locomotives work and different jobs on the railways, with independent exploration of the museum’s displays. Through close up encounters with our collections students can learn about the early days of the Stockton and Darlington Railway, with or without accompanying worksheets.

Planning a visit:

All our workshops are currently free for schools if pre-booked.

Full day sessions from 10am to 3pm are also available.

Most sessions can accommodate a maximum of 60 children.

A room for lunch is provided when booking sessions led by the museum staff.
