Darlington’s Head of Steam @ Firthmoor Community Centre
Lino printing with The Littlest Falcon! Saturday 14th October, 10-11am (children aged 4-11), 1.30pm-3pm (young people aged 10+)
Join fab local artist Merlyn as she guides you through the touchy-feely art of printmaking. The older group will be using real printmaking Lino, whilst the smaller tots can learn simple printmaking with Styrofoam for quick and easy results! Free entry, but find out more and sign up in advance here:

Wherever you are, join illustrator and animator Carl as he talks you through his drawing process and shares how to get started with illustration.
Kirkleatham Museum
Paint Off Competition! Wednesday 1st November 1pm-5pm
Join us at Kirkleatham Museum for a four hour painting challenge. We will give you an hour to look around and be inspired, followed by exactly three hours to paint a canvas (we’ll even let you choose your canvas).
All materials will be supplied, including easel, paint and brushes but feel free to bring along your own art materials if you wish.
£100 of art materials for the winner. Judged by an industry professional.
13+ (Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult but do not need a ticket).

Late night photography: Drawing with Light! Tuesday 24th October and Thursday 2nd November, 5-7pm
Come along and join photographer Jenny from Zestlight Photography at Preston Park Museum for an evening workshop exploring how to take photos of amazing paintings with light. Explore basic camera settings, use your mobile and see what you can create using all of those night time senses!

Build a Spirobot! Friday 3rd November, 12.30-2pm, 2-3.30pm
Come along to the Dorman Museum to join Junior Stem and build a robot that will draw for you! Can you fit it with sensors to follow your commands? Create some robot art to take home.
